Established in 1949, the High Commission of Sri Lanka in Canberra is one of Sri Lanka’s earliest overseas diplomatic missions. It serves as a vital conduit for strengthening the longstanding relationship between Sri Lanka and Australia, a partnership grounded in shared democratic values, growing economic linkages, and enduring people-to-people ties.
The High Commission is committed to advancing bilateral engagement across a broad spectrum of domains, including political, security, educational, economic and cultural cooperation, while fostering strong connectivity between the peoples of Sri Lanka and Australia. Guided by a service-centric ethos, it provides comprehensive consular services to the Sri Lankan community across Australia and its areas of accreditation, with a steadfast focus on safeguarding the welfare and interests of Sri Lankan citizens abroad.
The High Commission of Sri Lanka is also accredited to Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu.
